Our Mission
Our mission is to conserve the ancestral history and natural gifts of the land through profitable agroforestry, climate resilience farming, and education.
Our Story
This project represents the rebirth of a historic family farm. The land we steward holds a deep and complex history, originally cared for by the Catawba and Tuscarora peoples before displacement by European settlers.
Later, the land came into the stewardship of a family lineage seeking refuge and safety from racial violence in the South. Over time, due to the Great Migration and the search for safety and economic opportunity, the family moved to the northeast. For many years, the land remained vacant and was managed as a timber farm.
Recently, the fifth generation of the family returned to the land to continue their ancestral legacy as a farmer and forest steward, bringing the farm back to life.
What We Do
We are dedicated to sustainable practices that honor the past while looking toward the future. Our work encompasses:
- Agroforestry & Agriculture: Implementing farming systems that integrate trees and shrubs with crops and livestock.
- Climate Resilience: Utilizing farming methods that adapt to changing climates and protect the ecosystem.
- Food & Environment: Producing healthy food while prioritizing environmental health.
- Education: Sharing knowledge about sustainable land management and ancestral history.
